Solar Charge Controller | Victron | SmartSolar MPPT 250/60
Product Details
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60 opens the door to long panel string configurations with its 250V maximum PV input voltage — enabling up to four standard 60V panels in series for minimal cable losses. It delivers 60A to 12V, 24V, or 48V battery banks with a 99% peak efficiency and supports solar inputs up to 3,440W at 48V. The screw terminal PV connections suit fixed installations, and a programmable relay enables load or generator automation. Bluetooth and VictronConnect provide full wireless access for monitoring and configuration.

Compatible Battery Types
Works with AGM, Gel, Flooded (wet cell), LiFePO4, and lithium-ion batteries. Battery type and absorption/float voltages are configurable via the VictronConnect app.
Use Cases
For long-wheelbase caravans and motorhomes where cable runs from the roof to the battery compartment exceed 5 metres, the 250V input allows series strings that dramatically reduce voltage drop without expensive thick cable.
Expedition 4WD builds with roof rack and rear-mounted panels in series benefit from the 250V headroom — combine panels in series to run a clean, single cable to the controller without high-current parallel strings.
Sailing catamarans and larger monohulls with panels spread across the deck and coach roof benefit from the ability to wire strings in series to a single 250V MPPT rather than multiple smaller controllers.
Ground-mount systems with string voltages exceeding 150V — common when using standard 60-cell residential panels — require the 250V input rating. The 250/60 handles two panels in series at 120Voc with comfortable margin.
App Control & Connectivity
All SmartSolar MPPT controllers feature built-in Bluetooth for wireless monitoring and configuration via the free VictronConnect app (iOS and Android). Adjust charge settings, view real-time solar data, and receive alerts — all without needing a laptop or additional hardware. For advanced monitoring, connect to a Victron GX device (Cerbo GX, Venus GX) for full system integration and remote access via VRM.
